Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a pulmonary/critical care physician to support the lung transplant program and expand critical care and pulmonology coverage. The role includes outpatient and inpatient duties, teaching responsibilities, and active involvement in resident education.

Minimum qualifications include an MD/DO, ACGME pulmonary/critical care fellowship, and board eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine and CCM. Site activities span the Richmond area with a strong academic focus.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
• Completed ACGME-approved pulmonary and critical care fellowship.
• Board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
• Lung transplant fellowship completed or in progress (one year).
• Demonstrated professionalism and civility with diverse faculty, staff, and learners.

Responsibilities

• Teaching learners, including medical students, interns and residents, using evidence-based methods.
• Engage in recruitment, education, and advisory activities for DOIM residents.
• Support lung transplant program along with critical care and general pulmonology coverage.
• Outpatient outreach to grow the pulmonary and lung transplant clinics.
• Inpatient critical care coverage, nocturnal call support, and ICU admissions.
• Participate in committees, review groups, or editorial activities as appropriate.
