Job summary

TDY Medical Staffing, Inc is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonary/Critical Care physician for a federal contract with the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, IA. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with two physicians providing ~40 hours/week.

Regular outpatient clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with after-hours coverage mainly by phone and on-site availability within 60 minutes when required.

Qualifications

• Board Certification or Board Eligibility through the ABIM in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care.
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• DEA certificate holder.
• Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging.
• Ability to perform pulmonary and critical-care procedures required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide a broad range of pulmonary and critical care services including inpatient and outpatient consultations.
• Perform bronchoscopy, oxygen and ventilator management.
• Interpret pulmonary function tests and sleep-study interpretations.
• Conduct pre-surgical evaluations, e-consults, home oxygen and ventilator management.
• Coordinate after-hours coverage, with telephonic response and on-site availability as needed.
