Job summary

TDY Medical Staffing, Inc. is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians for the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa.

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services to Veterans. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with after-hours coverage by telephone, and on-call in person within 60 minutes if needed.

Qualifications

• Be Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care.
• Hold a current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS
• Hold a current DEA certificate
• Be eligible for VA credentialing and privileging
• Be able to perform the pulmonary and critical‑care procedures required by the position

Responsibilities

• Provide a broad range of pulmonary and critical care services, including inpatient and outpatient pulmonary consultations, critical care, bronchoscopy, oxygen and ventilator management, pulmonary function test interpretation, sleep‑study interpretation, overnight oximetry, pre‑surgical evaluations, e‑consults, home oxygen and ventilator management, and related pulmonary procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Hold a current DEA certificate
• Be eligible for VA credentialing and privileging
• Be able to perform the pulmonary and critical‑care procedures required by the position

Contract Term

The anticipated initial period of performance is:

December 1, 2026 - November 30, 2027

The solicitation also provides for a potential six‑month extension through May 31, 2028.
