Job Summary:

HealthAlliance Hospital, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) , is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician to join our team. This position is primarily outpatient-focused , with an emphasis on pulmonary and sleep medicine , while also providing limited inpatient consultative and ICU coverage opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a patient-centered team in a supportive, community-focused healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Outpatient Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine:
    • Diagnose and manage a range of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary nodules.
    • Provide evaluation and treatment for sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea and insomnia.
    • Interpret pulmonary function tests.
    • Work closely with referring providers and respiratory therapists to optimize patient care.
  • Provide pulmonary consultations for hospitalized patients on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with the hospital’s medical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • ICU Coverage
    • Participate in occasional ICU rounding or consults, offering critical care expertise.
    • Collaborate with ICU nurses and physicians to manage critically ill patients as needed.
  • Partner with advanced practice providers (APPs), nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives, quality improvement projects, and hospital committees.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records.
    • Follow hospital guidelines for billing, coding, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Additional Sleep Medicine certification or interest in sleep medicine is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a community hospital setting .
