Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA seeks a Pulmonary Critical Care physician for an inpatient/outpatient hybrid role. The position includes ICU leadership, bronchoscopic procedures, and a strong multidisciplinary team with APP support.

You will provide bedside critical care, inpatient and outpatient pulmonary services, and collaborate across oncology, radiology, and thoracic surgery to deliver comprehensive care for complex pulmonary diseases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO is required with board eligibility or board certification in Pulmonology and Critical Care.
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa.
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt).
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate care across clinical teams.
• Evaluate and manage critically ill patients, including ventilator management and bedside procedures.
• Provide inpatient pulmonary consultations and manage pulmonary service patients.
• Deliver comprehensive outpatient pulmonary care at Waukee Medical Park and John Stoddard Cancer Center.
• Perform bronchoscopies and other pulmonary procedures, with access to advanced robotics and 3D fluoroscopy.
• Interpret pulmonary diagnostics including PFTs and respiratory testing.
• Collaborate with oncology, thoracic surgery, radiology and other specialties for thoracic care.
• Participate in rotating schedules across ICU, inpatient, outpatient, and procedural services.
• Mentor residents and medical students; contribute to CME and provider education.
