Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Pulmonary department at Unity Hospital. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, focusing on safe, compassionate interactions and adherence to treatment plans.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, EKG, and patient transfers. A CNA or nursing Fundamentals background and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Strong customer service and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean equipment and linens; stock supplies in patient rooms.
• Provide safe, competent basic patient care including nutrition, hygiene, and comfort.
• Perform clinical duties under RN supervision (vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, admissions/discharges).
• Collect and process specimens as required.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and use of lift devices.
• Respond to patient call lights promptly and courteously.
