Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an Associate Division Chief of Academic Affairs for the Pulmonary Division. The role coaches attending physicians, fellows, APPs, nurses and RCTs to develop and execute strategic career plans in education and research, and collaborates with the Fellowship Director on training curricula.

The position leads scholarly activity, oversees education and research oversight, and aligns division goals with CNMC’s mission while ensuring quality,

Qualifications

• MD required with pediatric pulmonology fellowship or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years academic appointment at Associate or Full Professor level.
• Experience supervising clinical professionals and trainees in research.
• Knowledge of current scientific research principles and ethics.
• Unrestricted DC medical license and staff credentialing.
• Board certification in Pediatric Pulmonology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and educational services to patients and trainees.
• Oversee division educational needs and supervise the care team.
• Coordinate fellowship training and supervise research activities.
• Develop advocacy, outreach, and policy-related scholarly work.
• Lead strategic planning and budget for the division.
