Job summary

Peco Foods Inc. is seeking production workers to support live poultry operations in Mississippi. The role requires physical stamina, standing and walking for most of the shift, and the ability to lift live birds weighing 4.0–7.0 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Catch and load live chickens into steel cages by the wings.
• Follow written company policies and sanitation rules.
• Maintain high personal hygiene in line with GMP and biosecurity.
• Identify and report suspicious or abnormal situations to the supervisor.
• Assist vaccinator by presenting birds for vaccination and performing duties as directed.

• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP and biosecurity policies.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or live management official.
• Abnormal situation would be:
• Unauthorized employees in restricted areas
• Any activity that goes against the Peco animal welfare policy.
• Catch and pick up live chickens by the wings and present them to the vaccinator to be vaccinated.
• Administer vaccinations in appropriate locations in accordance with Peco policy.
• Comply with written company policies.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP and biosecurity policies.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or live management official.
• Abnormal situation would be:
• Unauthorized employees in restricted areas
• Any activity that goes against the Peco animal welfare policy.

· Standing / walking 100% of the workday.

· Lifting live birds that weight between 4.0-7.0 pounds on average.

· Dusty/warm work environment inside the chicken houses.

· Being able to work in a mostly outdoor environment.
