Administrative and Project Services has an opportunity for a Legal Secretary who will play a key role in preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents; maintaining case files and records; coordinating filings with the State Office of Administrative Hearing (SOAH); and supporting hearing schedules and deadlines. The role also assists with preparing appellate records, managing confidential materials, and submitting filings to the Texas Register. The position supports attorneys, administrative law judges, and legal staff on matters that directly support the Commission’s case management processes and regulatory responsibilities.
The Office of Policy and Docket Management provides critical administrative and legal support to attorneys, administrative law judges, and legal assistants in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications:
Legal Secretary II: High school graduation or GED equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Legal Secretary III: High school graduation or GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Legal Secretary IV: High school graduation or GED equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The PUCT operates on a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees may request an alternative work schedule in accordance with the PUCT's Alternative Work Schedule Policy. Approval of such requests, including any form of telecommuting, is at management's discretion and based on the business needs of the agency and the requirements of the position. New employees must complete a 90-day period of employment before being eligible to request telecommuting.
