Job summary

City of Buda, TX seeks a Streets Superintendent to plan, direct, and evaluate operations across Streets, Drainage, and Right-of-Way within Public Works. You will lead teams, manage maintenance programs, and coordinate with internal and external partners to keep infrastructure safe and compliant.

The role reports to the Assistant Director of Public Works and requires after-hours availability for emergencies, with a starting salary depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years municipal street/public works experience.
• At least 3 years supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of MS4 and stormwater requirements.
• Valid State of Texas Class C driver’s license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates daily and long-range operations for Streets, Drainage, and Right-of-Way divisions.
• Establishes work priorities and preventive-maintenance schedules; assigns resources and monitors service levels.
• Supervises employees; conducts onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develops operating procedures, performance measures, and work standards for assigned functions.
• Coordinates with Engineering, Utilities, Parks, Police and external agencies to minimize disruptions and meet standards.
• Manages budgets, contracts, equipment, and materials; ensures cost-effective services.
