Job summary

Haverford Township is seeking seasonal employees for leaf season. Employment runs from November 2026 through the end of December 2026 (approximately 8 weeks). Hours are 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).

Pay rate is $17.50 per hour. Position involves heavy manual labor outdoors and requires ability to lift 50–100 pounds, bend, kneel, reach, squat, and work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Frequent strenuous physical effort required; ability to lift and carry 50 to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, reach and squat frequently.
• Work shifts greater than 8 hours may be required.
• Ability to use and wear PPE including hearing protection, eye protection, foot and hand protection, and respiratory protection.
• Position involves bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching and twisting.
• Must perform heavy manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must follow oral instructions and work well with others; uphold high ethical standards.

• Must be able to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to take and comprehend oral instructions. Must be able to work well with others. Must adhere to high ethical standards and personal integrity.
• Works under the supervision of the Highway Supervisor and occasional direction from the Assistant Director and Director of Public Works.

• Required to bend, kneel, reach, squat frequently, and climb a ladder throughout a work shift.
• Frequent movement in and out of equipment and vehicles.
• Will be required to work shifts greater than (8) hours during winter and emergency operations.
• Ability to use and wear personal protective equipment and clothing such as hearing protection, eye protection, foot and hand protection, and respiratory protection.
