Nueces County Public Works seeks a Roadway Maintenance Technician I to perform manual labor on roads and bridges, including patching, asphalt work, and drainage maintenance. The role requires outdoor work and lifting up to 50 pounds, with readiness for duties before, during, and after emergencies.

You will operate small equipment such as mowers, cutting torch, and drills, and may assist with loading, hauling, and flagging at job sites.

Formación

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Math skills including basic operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and work under supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Performs general road maintenance, including patching roads, laying asphalt, and repairing driveways.
• Operates small equipment such as mowers, cutting torch, electric saw, electric drill, and related tools.
• May load/unload material, assist with carpentry or sign making, and work as a flagger at job sites.
