• Residency requirement: must become and remain City of Pittsburgh resident
• Medical examination required for civil service
• Pre-employment background investigations conducted for all candidates

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs refuse and recycling personnel on assigned routes.
• Checks vehicles for maintenance, safety, and compliance with DOT policies.
• Maintains records and reports on work performed and time records for staff.
• Responds to residents' requests and resolves complaints; interviews residents and staff.
• Ensures route work progress and adherence to safety policies; may testify in court for violations.
