Job Summary:
The City of Leawood seeks a driven and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee infrastructure and facility projects within the Public Works Department. This role ensures seamless project execution through coordination with internal departments, external consultants, and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead capital and infrastructure projects from planning through construction
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and performance reports
Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and consultants
Manage bidding processes and oversee construction administration
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, permits, and regulations
Communicate with residents, businesses, and community partners
Monitor quality standards and resolve project-related issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure/public works project management
PE (Professional Engineer) or PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Proven success managing budgets, contracts, and multiple projects simultaneously
