Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Project Engineer for the Public Works team in Kansas. The role leads technical design from concept to final design, ensuring accuracy, constructability and compliance while balancing quality, budget and schedule.

You will mentor staff, coordinate across disciplines, work with clients and agencies, prepare reports, and lead roadway, traffic, and wastewater design tasks as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce complete engineering designs for public works projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, subconsultants, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and review work for accuracy.
• Prepare technical reports and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
