Qualifications

• Associate degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least one year in public works engineering or related training.
• Wisconsin driver's license with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of state laws and municipal ordinances governing public works.
• Ability to manage projects from design through inspection.
• Strong verbal and written communication to prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering reviews including site surveys, design work, and bid documents for capital projects.
• Manage public works projects, overseeing planning, design, field work, inspections, and contract administration.
• Perform civil engineering tasks such as surveying, setting elevations, and traffic signal programming.
• Collaborate with departments, agencies, and contractors to resolve issues and ensure project coordination.
• Communicate project details to the public and respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Prepare technical and administrative reports by compiling and analyzing data.
• Recommend capital expenditures and project priorities to the Director of Public Works.
• Supervise engineering aides and seasonal staff.
