Job summary

The Town of Wayland is seeking a qualified Medium Equipment Operator to join the Department of Public Works in Wayland, MA. This role performs journeyman level tasks related to maintenance, repair and construction of DPW assets, including roads, bridges and drainage.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least two years in public works or grounds keeping, and a valid Class B CDL. A Class 2B Hoisting License is required, Class 2A preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least two years of related experience in public works, maintenance work or grounds keeping work.
• Licenses/Certificates: Must have and maintain a valid Class B CDL license. Must have a valid Class 2B Hoisting License, 2A is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Town of Wayland seeks qualified candidates for a Medium Equipment Operator position with the Department of Public Works.
• This position performs a variety journeymen level tasks associated with the maintenance, repair and construction of DPW assets, including but not limited to: construct/maintain/repair of roads, streets and bridges; set-up work zones with appropriate safety guidelines; maintains/erects traffic markings, signs, and curbs; constructs/maintains drainage systems; plows/removes snow; and grounds work as necessary.
