The City of Fontana is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker to join the Utilities/Streets Division. This role involves a variety of tasks including the maintenance and repair of streets, sewers, and public facilities. Candidates should have experience in maintenance, be able to work in various weather conditions, and possess a California Class 'B' License with Tanker Endorsement within six months of hire. Join a committed team and contribute to the upkeep of the city's infrastructure.
Under general and/or immediate supervision, performs a variety of maintenance and construction duties in the City’s field maintenance services involving street, sewer, asphalt, parks, and facilities maintenance, repair, and reconstruction work.

Position involves physical activities such as prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting objects over 25 pounds. Work is performed in all weather conditions, with exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, and traffic. Climbing ladders, using power tools, and working with noisy equipment are required.
The candidate should have knowledge of maintenance tools and safety practices, and the ability to perform various maintenance and repair tasks independently. Experience with street, sewer, or asphalt maintenance, and traffic control is preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year in a similar field maintenance role, with preferred experience in street, sewer, or asphalt work.
Education: Ability to read and write at a functional level.
License or Certificate: Must obtain a California Class "B" License with Tanker Endorsement within six months of hire.
