Job summary

City of Clovis seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled and unskilled duties across streets, sewer, water storage and distribution, parks and related areas. No prior experience required; some tasks involve heavy physical labor.

You will follow established instructions, work under supervision, and may assist in carpentry, painting, masonry and minor electrical work as needed. A valid California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic math, simple record-keeping and safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection and maintenance of streets, parks, sewers, water systems and facilities.
• Load and unload supplies; operate light equipment and perform manual labor.
• Perform carpentry, painting, masonry and minor electrical work as needed.
• Update maps and sewer plats; paint lines and mark surfaces.
• Maintain yards, alleys and buildings; keep simple records.
