The City of Richland Hills, Texas (pop. 8,600) is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Technician I. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor and maintenance of city streets, water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. This may include heavy manual labor, operating light and heavy equipment and participating in utilities field activities in a safe and effective manner. This position will assist with other public works related activities and tasks as required.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; some manual labor experience or construction trades experience; a valid Texas Class C Operator’s Driver's License is required; and a Class “D” Water Distribution Certificate or Class I Wastewater collection license desired, or obtained within 12 months from date of hire.
Starting pay is $35,360 depending on qualifications and licensing. Additional benefits include: TMRS - 7% match 2 to 1; Medical, dental, life insurance and long-term disability at no cost to employee; in addition, the city provides optional benefits such as: 457 deferred compensation, flexible spending, and vacation, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays.
