Job summary

The City of Aberdeen is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the Public Works Department to service city parks, streets and facilities. The role involves underground utility maintenance, snow removal, and support for community events.

You will work solo or with a crew and may respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis, including evenings, weekends, or holidays. Minimum starting pay is $20.45 per hour, with starting pay negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with some work experience in construction, maintenance, or repairs.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains underground utilities such as water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Maintains city streets, sidewalks, and city-owned facilities.
• Supports community events, including event management, traffic control, site prep and cleanup.
• Assists with snow/ice removal, storm recovery, and emergencies outside normal hours.
• Operates medium and heavy machines.
• Completes reports or logs.
• Follows safety policies and performs other duties as assigned.
