Job summary

City of Murphy is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to support the water, wastewater, roadway, and stormwater systems. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections, operate multiple types of equipment, and ensure safety and compliance across departments.

The role requires a high school diploma, several Licenses, and a valid CDL with tanker endorsement or eligibility to obtain within 12 months. Standard Monday–Friday schedule with growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 years of related construction, maintenance and repair experience in roadway and stormwater.
• Water/Wastewater licenses required or to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• Texas Class B CDL with tanker endorsement required or obtainable within 12 months of hire.
• Must have a good driving record per City policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools; keep inspection records.
• Set up and maintain traffic control plans per TxMUTCD.
• Repair and maintain water and wastewater components; perform meter changes.
• Operate a range of heavy equipment and perform daily inspections.
• Cover first-call/back-up emergencies and assist other departments during incidents.
