Job summary

City of Howell is seeking a Laborer / Beginning Skilled/Semi-Skilled in Public Services. You will perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks and operate equipment in water, sewer, street, and drainage system upkeep.

Under supervision, you will inspect, repair, and maintain meters, pipes, and facilities, drive trucks, and assist in park, cemetery, and building maintenance as needed. Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience; CDL or ability to obtain one; union

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of related construction/maintenance experience.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair meters, streets, drainage, sewer systems.
• Perform labor on construction/maintenance projects; pavement cutting, trenching, cleaning.
• Operate water mains, pipes, hydrants; assist in shutting off sections as needed.
• Maintain records related to inspections and water usage.
• Drive trucks and operate light to heavy equipment.
• Follow safety and security standards.
