The City of Dallas is hiring a Laborer I to perform unskilled and physical labor supporting cleaning, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drains, sewer lines, water/wastewater mains, parks, and public facilities. You will operate lawn equipment and assist in various public works tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting in concrete work, asphalt, drainage, traffic control, and general groundskeeping. This role offers growth opportunities and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifikationen

• General mechanical knowledge and aptitude necessary to perform a variety of unskilled labor.
• Ability to learn to use hand/power tools and other equipment specific to various trades.
• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships.

Aufgaben

• Perform strenuous labor and assist in maintenance of facilities, utilities, and landscaping.
• Assist in setting forms, mixing concrete, and laying asphalt for sidewalks and streets.
• Load and unload tools and materials for repairs.
• Operate equipment and perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Flag traffic and set up barricades for safety.
• Dig trenches and clear drainage ditches and sewer lines.
• Perform other trades work as needed.
