Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Public Works Inspector II to ensure contractors comply with construction specifications, standards and codes through on-site inspections of highway, street, bridge and water systems projects. This role involves outdoor work and may require some evenings or weekends.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, four years of inspection experience, and a valid Maryland Class C driver’s license (Baltimore City permit eligibility).

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Experience: Four years of construction inspection work in highways, streets, bridges or water/sewer facilities.
• Equivalency: Any equivalent education and experience.
• Licenses: Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or equivalent; eligible to obtain Baltimore City driver’s permit.
• Prohibition: Provisional driver’s license or learner permits are not acceptable.
• Upload: Must upload a copy of your valid driver’s license with application.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractors comply with specifications, standards and codes through on-site inspections.
