Job summary

City of Park Ridge is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance worker to maintain parks, streetscapes, and public spaces across the community. You will operate lawn care equipment, perform minor repairs, and assist with snow removal and other public works tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, public works, or related fields.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf, landscaped areas, and flower beds throughout the City.
• Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, aerators, chainsaws, spray equipment, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Safely operate heavy and light construction equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on assigned equipment.
• Assist with snow and ice control operations.
• Support street, water, sewer, hydrant, and other Public Works maintenance activities as needed.
• Perform general road and infrastructure maintenance, including asphalt and concrete repairs, vegetation control, and storm sewer maintenance.
• Respond to after-hours and on-call needs as assigned.
