Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET) required.
  • One year operating light to medium construction equipment preferred.
  • Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid Class A CDL within six months of appointment.
  • Must maintain a good driving record for past three years.
  • Residency within 30-mile radius of City Hall within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate trucks, tractors, and other motorized equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair water distribution components.
  • Maintain streets and right-of-ways including patching and paving.
  • Perform snow removal and ice control.
  • Maintain drainage systems and CCTV inspection.
  • Install and maintain traffic signals, fiber optics, and traffic control devices.
  • Read blueprints, manuals, and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Assist the public and respond to inquiries and emergencies.
