Job summary

The City of Richland Hills is seeking a general laborer to perform maintenance of city streets, drainage, water and wastewater infrastructure under general supervision. Work includes heavy manual labor, operating light and heavy equipment, and assisting in utilities field activities.

The role supports other departments as needed; requires high school diploma, a valid Texas Class C Driver's License, and water/wastewater operator licenses within set timelines. Safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Some manual labor or construction trades experience.
• Possession of Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain Class D Water Operator License and Class 1 Wastewater Operator within two years; upgrade to Class C Water Distribution Operator within four years.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up barricades and act as flagger for traffic around job sites.
• Assists in repair and maintenance of roadways; cleans grounds and drainage ditches.
• Operates hand and power tools including picks, shovels, weed eater, edger, chain saw.
• Learns and performs various street, drainage, water, wastewater tasks.
• Maintains vehicles and equipment; follows safety guidelines.
