Job summary

Draper City is seeking a Public Services Technician to support multiple Public Works divisions, including Solid Waste, Streets, Water, and Fleet. The role involves operating vehicles and tools, conducting routine maintenance, handling inventory, and assisting with inspections and service requests.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Utah driver license, with CDL-B/Tanker endorsement due within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in public works, maintenance, construction, customer service, equipment operation, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Utah Driver License. Must obtain Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within 12 months of hire.
• Flagger certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational support to Public Works divisions (Solid Waste, Streets, Water, Storm Water, Fleet).
• Coordinates delivery, exchange, repair, tracking, and inventory of residential solid waste and recycling containers.
• Operates City vehicles, trailers, equipment, hand tools, and power tools for maintenance tasks.
• Performs general maintenance, repairs, cleaning, material handling, and equipment prep.
• Maintains records of work activities, service requests, inventory, and equipment usage.
