Job summary

Fulton County Department of Public Works in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Crew Supervisor to supervise staff and coordinate construction, maintenance, and repair projects for streets, drainage, and water/sewer facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED plus five years of relevant experience, and a Georgia Class B CDL (Class A or endorsements may be required for some assignments). Veterans’ preference applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus five years in construction/maintenance of public infrastructure or equivalent experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Class B CDL; some assignments may require Class A CDL and/or endorsements; Flagging Certification within required timeframes.
• Water Distribution or Collection System Operator License may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, evaluates, and develops assigned staff; handles employee concerns and performance appraisals.
• Coordinates daily work activities; assigns and inspects work; ensures safety and quality standards; manages equipment and material needs.
• Prepares operational and statistical reports; ensures adherence to codes, laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Communicates with supervisor, departments, customers, and the public to coordinate work and resolve issues.
• Performs on-site reviews, ensures efficient use of resources, and maintains safety of crew and the public.
