Job summary

The Town of Acton, MA is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Person to perform mechanical, electrical, and manual work for the maintenance and repair of Town vehicles and equipment. This benefitted union position supports Public Works operations by ensuring vehicles and machinery are safe and ready for use, including during emergencies.

Duties include routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs; test-driving for safety; maintaining records; and assisting with snow plowing and winter road

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 1 year public works or related experience.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Valid driver's license; CDL Class B with airbrake to be obtained within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on town vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and test-drive vehicles for safe operation.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist with snow and storm maintenance.
