Job summary

The City of Sedalia is seeking a flexible, semi-skilled laborer to operate a variety of light to heavy equipment and assist in maintaining the city infrastructure. Under supervision, you’ll perform manual tasks, record-keeping, and routine maintenance to support Public Works projects.

You may work in the Street, Water, and Wastewater Departments, with on-call shifts, occasional overtime, and adherence to safety policies. Missouri driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year related experience in a public works or maintenance setting.
• Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license.
• Possession of CDL is preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Operate light to moderately heavy equipment and perform manual labor as needed.
• Maintain records of work activities and assist in maintenance tasks.
• Assist in mowing, alley maintenance, street, water, and wastewater duties.
• Respond to on-call rotations and work weekends/holidays as required.
• Follow safety rules and departmental guidelines during operations.
