Job summary

The City of St. Marys is seeking a maintenance worker to keep rights of way clear and to install and repair drainage ditches, culverts, and storm drains. You will also help repair roadways, water lines, and sewers while performing other manual labor as needed.

Responsibilities include operating tools and heavy equipment, inspecting vehicles, and maintaining equipment. A valid driver’s license and willingness to perform emegency support when required are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience.
• Valid state driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Knowledge of safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
• Remove unwanted branches, grass, and trees as needed.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Fill potholes and assist in drainage projects as assigned.
• Install and repair drainage ditches, culverts, and storm drains.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
