Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited school.
• Four years of engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in TX or able to obtain TX PE within 6 months.
• Valid Class C Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional, technical, and other staff in design, construction, and maintenance of public works projects.
• Review plans, specs, and cost estimates; attend meetings; solve design problems.
• Approve plans and specs for construction contracts.
• Advise City departments on engineering matters.
• Evaluate consultant fee proposals and approve compensation.
• Review bid packages; attend pre-bid conferences; analyze bids.
• Assist with budget preparation.
• Perform related duties as required.
