Job summary

City of Chico is seeking one experienced Senior Development Engineer to lead engineering staff in the plan review, design, and construction of street, storm drain, sewer, drainage, and transportation facilities, based at Chico City Hall.

Under general direction, the Senior Development Engineer will supervise professional staff, coordinate with other divisions and outside agencies, assist in budget development and cost estimates, and represent the City in meetings with contractors, developers,

Qualifications

• Five years of professional civil/ transportation engineering experience.
• Experience supervising staff, including planning, assigning, and evaluating.
• Knowledge of public works standards and project budgeting.
• Ability to coordinate with outside agencies and manage development projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise staff and review engineering work for street, drainage, and transportation facilities.
• Coordinate services with other divisions and outside agencies.
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates, reports, and maintain records.
• Represent the City in meetings with public and private agencies and contractors.
