The City of Pacifica Public Works Department is seeking a knowledgeable public works professional to lead infrastructure maintenance and capital project management.
The successful candidate will mentor staff, build a strong team, and bring at least five years of public works experience, including three years in supervision, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Public or Business Administration or related field.
Located in San Mateo County just twelve miles south of San Francisco, Pacifica feels worlds away from it yet is easily accessible from Highway 1. The Public Works Department is supported by a total budget of $52 million and 65 staff across three divisions.
The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable public works professional with broad experience in infrastructure maintenance and capital project management. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be an accessible manager who enjoys mentoring and developing staff and building a strong team environment. Ideal candidates will bring five years of public works professional experience, including at least three years of supervision, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field.
The salary range goes up to $258,012, plus 5% for a PE license; salary is supplemented by an attractive benefits package. This recruitment will close on Sunday October 18, 2026.
