Job summary

The City of Kent is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Supervisor to lead a team in delivering high-quality public works infrastructure, including streets, utilities, and major municipal projects.

Under the Design Engineering Manager, you will supervise design staff, review plans and specifications, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with Construction Section throughout project delivery, with a PE license and eight years of experience in civil design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Eight years of technical civil engineering design experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (Washington State) required.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design review of streets and utilities to safety and cost standards.
• Supervise staff, hire and train employees, and evaluate performance.
• Coordinate with Construction Section during project delivery.
• Prepare and review plans, specifications, and permits.
