Job summary

City of St Marys Public Works Department is hiring a Construction Inspector PW-ENG/2 to ensure adherence to state and local ordinances on development projects. The role focuses on site inspections, erosion control monitoring, and coordinating with planners and engineers.

The position requires knowledge of construction methods, surveying, and civil engineering, as well as a high school diploma and 3+ years related experience. Outdoor duties in variable weather are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; and
• More than three years of related experience required; or
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Responsibilities

• Inspects project site work.
• Monitors on-going developments.
• Conducts site investigations.
• Investigates needed infrastructure.
• Monitors erosion and sedimentation control.
• Completes work orders.
• Layout of marsh and wetland buffers.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
