Job summary

The City of Edinburg is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform field engineering inspections for public works and capital improvement projects in Edinburg, TX. You will coordinate with contractors, ensure compliance with design specifications, and deliver accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalency.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in related field.
• Three (3) years' experience in Public Works/Municipal Construction Inspections.
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas DPS.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, review and evaluate the work of the construction contractor.
• Provide technical support and prepare and submit paperwork.
• Perform field testing and sample collection.
• Check materials inventory and ensure compliance with City's standards.
• Review and approve payment requests.
• Support other divisions within Public Works and Utilities as needed.
