Job summary

The City of Nacogdoches is seeking an Assistant Water Utilities Manager to help direct operations across Water Production and Wastewater Treatment divisions, ensuring high-quality service, regulatory compliance and community safety. This supervisory role supports daily operations, reporting, budgeting and staff development.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma/GED with coursework in math/science, two years in supervision, and TCEQ Class B Water and Wastewater licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with college coursework in chemistry, biology or math (College degree preferred).
• Minimum of two years in a supervisory position.
• Valid Driver's license and a TCEQ Class B Water license and a TCEQ Class B Wastewater license.
• Comprehensive understanding of water/wastewater plant operations, safety protocols, hydraulic/mechanical principles and standard software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist daily operations and maintenance for Water Production and Wastewater Treatment.
• Ensure full compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations.
• Manage the operation and maintenance of sewage lift stations.
