Job summary

The Wyoming Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA), an independent office within the Wyoming Public Service Commission, seeks an attorney to serve as counsel, handling administrative and judicial proceedings related to utility regulation.

You will collaborate with economists, engineers, and fellow attorneys to advocate for ratepayers and citizens while drafting pleadings, presenting witnesses, and engaging in settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

  • JD required; bar admission in Wyoming or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Experience in utility or administrative law and rate cases preferred.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical abilities; ability to work with technical experts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as counsel in contested utility cases before the Wyoming Public Service Commission.
  • Prepare and present testimony, briefs, and oral arguments.
  • Coordinate with economists, engineers, and other attorneys on testimonies and exhibits.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and advise on rules and legislation affecting regulation.
