Job summary

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who leads the Finance team, ensuring accurate financial analyses, reports, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders. The role demands strong Excel modeling, GASB/GAAP/FASB knowledge, and the ability to guide junior staff through complex projects.

You will develop budgets, monitor investments, and present data-driven insights to support strategic decisions and long-range planning in a public utility setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business or public administration and at least seven years of progressively responsible experience.
• A master's degree in business administration or public administration is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of analysts and support staff, providing guidance and quality review.
• Perform complex financial, statistical, and budget analyses to support budget development and planning.
• Lead the preparation of quarterly budget variance reports and other ongoing financial reports.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models; evaluate rates, capital projects, financing alternatives, and other strategic initiatives.
• Ensure appropriations remain consistent with Board approvals and manage financial resources responsibly.
