Job summary

Athens-Clarke County is seeking a Survey Technician to coordinate and provide surveying services for public utilities projects. You will conduct topographical surveys, draft designs, research deeds, and maintain records to support roadway and water/sewer projects.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's/Technical degree in Surveying and have two years of surveying/drafting experience; Georgia licensure is preferred. Must have valid driver's license and be able to operate surveying equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in Surveying, Drafting and Design or equivalent with two years surveying and drafting experience.
• Understanding of CADD techniques and surveying practices.
• Ability to read deeds, plats, maps and easements and interpret construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Conducts topographical surveys for roadway and drainage projects using advanced data collection equipment.
• Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare plans and construction drawings using CADD techniques.
• Research property deeds, plats, and easements to determine property lines.
• Maintain field notes and drawings for all surveys conducted.
