Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a diligent Houseperson to keep our hotel’s public areas and guest rooms clean and inviting in San Diego. You’ll move about the property assisting with housekeeping tasks, delivering guest requests, stocking carts, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will be on your feet for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds with a hands-on approach, and must be available to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
• Ability to handle problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
• Ability to work well in stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Maintain upkeep of public areas including lobby, pool, and restrooms.
• Assist with housekeeping duties such as changing sheets, towels, restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning after guest checkout.
• Deliver special items to guest rooms (e.g., cribs) and respond to guest requests.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs to supervisors
