The Public Space Houseman ensures the operational efficiency of the Housekeeping Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various hotel activities. Responsibilities include cleaning public areas, bathrooms, preparing meeting spaces, and maintaining overall cleanliness. Assistance with room cleaning and laundry may also be required.

Essential Functions
  1. Attend training sessions including safety, standard operating procedures, certifications, and other management-directed trainings.
  2. Arrive punctually according to the posted schedule.
  3. Follow uniform guidelines consistently.
  4. Practice efficient and effective cleaning procedures.
  5. Understand and follow instructions in English.
  6. Work collaboratively with the hotel team to ensure guest satisfaction exceeds expectations.
  7. Maintain a positive attitude focused on guest service.
  8. Report maintenance issues to maintenance staff, record details, and follow up until resolved.
  9. Address and resolve guest complaints regarding service or equipment, passing information to supervisors.
  10. Complete daily checklists and return keys as per hotel policy, ensuring security and accountability.
  11. Minimize noise in guest areas to ensure guest comfort.
  12. Clean public bathrooms according to brand standards.
  13. Maintain cleanliness in all hotel public areas, including the pool area and outdoor spaces.
  14. Restock towels and supplies in the pool area as needed.
  15. Remove trash from all receptacles across the property.
  16. Monitor activity in parking lots, pool, lobby, and hallways for suspicious behavior and report immediately.
  17. Engage with guests and internal customers to ensure a positive experience.
  18. Coordinate daily with the housekeeping supervisor to meet guest requests and departmental goals.
  19. Strive to meet or exceed departmental performance benchmarks.
