City of Fort Wayne is looking for an Engineer I in the Sewer & Stormwater division to plan, design and deliver projects from early planning through construction, collaborating with Utilities teams, consultants, and the public to keep our infrastructure reliable.

A bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with at least five years in a public agency or utility and a PE license or equivalent within six months.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least five years of experience in a public agency or utility, consulting engineering, or related field, focused on sewer and stormwater capital projects.
• Indiana PE license, or a PE license from another state with the ability to obtain Indiana licensure by comity within six months of hire.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license if operating a City vehicle.

Mansioni

• Plan, design, and deliver sewer and stormwater projects from early planning through construction.
• Prepare engineering reports, work plans, project documents, and budget information; track schedules and costs.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams, City and County partners, property owners, private utilities, consultants, and the public.
• Monitor the quality and progress of work performed by staff, consultants, and contractors; help resolve issues during construction.
• Investigate sewer and stormwater concerns, provide engineering support, and represent the programs at public and professional meetings.
