Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geography, Public Policy, or related field.
• Knowledge of planning principles and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews development proposals and subdivision plat applications for compliance.
• Researches planning issues and prepares recommendations for the Planning Commission.
• Interacts with the public, developers, engineers, and city staff.
• Prepares maps and graphical representations of data.
• Performs data entry, file management, and responds to inquiries.
• Supports a range of planning programs and policy initiatives.
