Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks an experienced Title Attorney for multiple locations including Phoenix, AZ, Yuma, AZ, and others. The role involves providing legal guidance on title examination, conveyancing, and federal land acquisitions, while supporting agency litigation and budget processes.

Qualifications

• Requires ABA-accredited law school degree and bar admission in good standing.
• GS-12: at least one year of specialized experience in title and real-property matters.
• GS-13/14: appropriate experience for placement at higher pay levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance and advocacy for CBP on real property matters, including title review for land acquisitions.
• Draft and revise land conveyancing instruments (deeds, sales and exchange agreements, assignments).
• Support DOJ as agency counsel in civil actions; prepare litigation documents and participate in eDiscovery and settlements.
• Perform legal research applying laws across CBP portfolio and assist in budget planning.
• Develop and deliver training on title review, land acquisition, and fiscal activities.
