Job summary

OpenGov is seeking a Project Manager II for its Government App Builder team in Chicago. You will lead SaaS implementations for public-sector clients, coordinating with government finance, grants, and budget stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-scope delivery.

You will manage multiple projects (4–9 months each), act as client liaison, monitor budgets and compliance, and drive adoption. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in a SaaS environment.
• Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with software implementation processes and project lifecycle management.
• Proactive problem-solving with attention to detail and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Technical aptitude and proficiency with PM and CRM tools.
• Strong initiative and ability to balance analytical detail with big-picture thinking.
• Able to adapt to a rapidly changing product environment and respond to client needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables for multiple government clients implementing OpenGov grants management and financial workflow solutions.
• Organize and deliver a portfolio of projects, each spanning 4–9 months, focusing on government procurement and compliance timelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on day-to-day project matters across finance directors and IT teams.
• Track and report on delivery metrics including status, budget health, compliance readiness, and go-live risks.
• Coordinate scope, requirements, UAT, training delivery, and go-live with analysts and consultants.
• Identify and escalate project risks related to resource constraints and stakeholder alignment.
• Coordinate user training and enablement with tailored training artifacts for government audiences.
• Support sales process, SOW creation, and customer discovery for realistic scoping.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for training and stakeholder meetings.
• Help refine GAB’s delivery framework and templates to improve consistency.
