City of Norfolk, VA, is seeking a psychiatrist to join the Norfolk Community Services Board, providing outpatient evaluation and treatment to adults with serious mental illness. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, conducting comprehensive assessments, prescribing medications, and delivering evidence-based therapies in a community setting.

The role offers regular hours, a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plan, paid leave, and a $5,000 signing bonus.

Formación

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.
• No additional experience beyond residency is required.
• Experience with seriously mentally ill individuals in a community outpatient setting is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs complete psychiatric evaluations and ongoing outpatient assessment and treatment.
• Prescribes and monitors medications with informed consent and safety monitoring.
• Provides on-call coverage and cross-coverage for other psychiatrists.
• Documents medical services accurately and timely per policy.
• Participates in Utilization Review and Quality Improvement activities.
